The Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center of Boca Raton is a premier, internationally recognized facility dedicated to advancing care and research for individuals livingwith Parkinson’s disease. Since 1999, the center has been led by Dr. Stuart H. Isaacson, a board-certified movement disorder neurologist with more than 200 scientific publications and extensive experience as a principal investigator in global research programs. Alongside Harvard and Columbia University-trained Movement Disorders and Autonomic specialist, Dr. Jonathan R. Isaacson, the center’s collaborative approach integrates personalized clinical care with access to one of the largest Parkinson’s clinical research centers in the United States.

Q. What clinical services are available at the Center?

A. Individualized treatment strategies using more than 25 FDA-approved medications; early, accurate diagnosis with skin biopsy, DaTscan imaging, and no-cost testing for genes that cause Parkinson’s disease. New patient consultations with movement disorder specialists are scheduled within one month, ensuring that “No One Should Have to Wait for Parkinson’s Care.”

Q. What is the Parkinson’s Wellness Center?

A. Supported by the Parkinson’s Research and Education Foundation, the Parkinson’s Wellness Center off ers daily programs at no cost, including wellness activities, exercise classes, support groups, and lectures. The upcoming Parkinson’s Educational Symposium on October 30 in Boca Raton features national experts speaking on emerging medications and research programs.

Q. What research is underway at the Center?

A. Research programs prioritize new treatments for motor and nonmotor symptoms, novel therapies to slow disease progression, GBA and LRRK2 genetic studies, stem cell trials, and PD prevention trials with the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Trials also enrolling for essential tremor, dystonia, RBD, PSP, MSA, and Lewy Body Dementia.
