Dr. Jason Gorscak has built his reputation on personalized, patient-centered care as an ophthalmic surgeon specializing in cataract and lens-based refractive procedures since 2008.
With training that includes Johns Hopkins University and the University of Miami School of Medicine, he founded See Vision Eye Institute, home to one of Palm Beach County’s few accredited office-based surgery suites. Patients see the same surgeon and team from consultation through surgery, and travel from across South Florida for the experience.
“We built a surgery center unlike any other, delivering a concierge-level experience while making every patient feel comfortable, confi dent, and cared for,” says Dr. Gorscak.
Q. What are the most sought-after procedures you perform?
A. My scope of advanced ophthalmic procedures includes Refractive Cataract Surgery, which diff ers from regular cataract surgery. I specialize in using presbyopia-correcting lens implants for people who want to be completely independent of glasses or contacts after cataract surgery.
Q. What about patients who want freedom from glasses or contacts but don’t have cataracts?
A. For patients between the ages of 40 and 60 who still depend on glasses or readers, there’s a procedure called Refractive Lens Exchange. It uses the same advanced lens implants our cataract patients receive, but decades earlier, restoring clear vision for daily activities, from reading menus to boating and golf.
Q. What other options do patients have to avoid the side effects of LASIK?
A. For adults in their 20s to 40s, the EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) is an elegant alternative to LASIK. The lens is placed inside the eye in minutes, without removing corneal tissue, and is fully reversible. Patients enjoy crisp vision without glasses or contacts.
