Fashion takes center stage Thursday, Sept. 6 at Neiman Marcus inside Town Center at Boca Raton with the fourth anniversary of an extravaganza celebrated around the world. Fashion’s Night Out, the global initiative started in 2009, sparked events in 18 countries last year, including some 4,500 here in the United States.

Neiman Marcus in Boca once again will host its own spectacular with a lineup of festivities that includes everything from makeovers in the cosmetics department to a South Beach-style photo booth to live acrobatic performers. A handful of local restaurants—including Rosso Italia, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, and Red, the Steakhouse—will provide culinary treats.

“This is really the first major event of the season,” says Lauren Johnson, the public relations manager for Neiman Marcus at Town Center. “It’s a great way to kick off the season and highlight all of our finest, most exclusive vendors.”

The highlight of the evening will be a runway fashion show in the atrium of level 2. David Fittin, stylist for Boca Raton magazine and fashion coordinator for the event, promises an evening of eye-catching fall trends from the industry’s top designers—from Helmut Lang and Roberto Cavalli to Stella McCartney and Marc Jacobs. All fashion show merchandise will be available for purchase.

“It will be an awesome display of the best of our designer and couture designers as well as our urban chic collection featured in our new CUSP shop,” says Johnson of the contemporary store-within-a-store concept inside Neiman Marcus.

Attendees also will be able to purchase special event T-shirts, with 40 percent of the sale proceeds going to the New York City AIDS Fund, part of the New York Community Trust.

“The energy that’s created is unbelievable,” says Johnson, who expects the event to draw upward of 500 attendees. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. Admission is free, but guests are required to RSVP. For more information, call 561/544-2313.
