A heaping helping of nostalgia–culinary and otherwise–is now being dished up at the latest venture of revitalized South Florida restaurateur Dennis Max, an Italian-American eatery in Deerfield Beach aptly named Frank & Dino’s (718 S. Federal Hwy., 954/427-4909).
Dubbed “a celebration of Italian-America culture,” F&D’s is channeling the spirit of its Rat Pack namesakes, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, whose memorabilia is part of the 4,000-square-foot restaurant’s décor. The space also includes a lounge, patio and private dining room
Chef is Tonino Orsino, a native of Naples (as in Italy) who’s put in time in the kitchens of such notable local restaurants as the old Campagnola’s, and Casa D’Angelo and La Veranda in Fort Lauderdale. Orsino’s menu is a compilation of all those classic Italian-American dishes that are burned into our collective taste memory: caprese salad, clams oreganata, pasta all’ Amatriciana, veal piccata, shrimp fra diavolo and the like.
Frank & Dino’s is open Monday through Friday for lunch and dinner nightly.
