Festival of the Arts BOCA added to its already impressive lineup of music, dance and literary talent with the announcement that award-winning political reporter and author Seymour Hersh will speak on March 7.
Hersh, a graduate of the University of Chicago, cut his journalistic teeth as a reporter for the AP, UPI and New York Times reporter before becoming a freelance writer in 1979. He has since authored eight books, including the award-winning The Price of Power: Kissinger in the Nixon White House. His most recent effort is Chain of Command: The Road from 9/11 to Abu Ghraib.
“We are thrilled to welcome one of the most compelling journalists of our time to Boca Raton,” says Charlie Siemon, co-founder of the Festival. “Mr. Hersh will deliver what we anticipate will be a standing-room-only presentation with his views on the state of American foreign policy today.”
On the musical side, the Festival, which runs from March 4-12 at venues in Mizner Park, features everything from soprano phenom Jackie Evancho – the 10-year-old discovered on “America’s Got Talent” to the U.S. debut of classic guitar sensation Milos Karadaglic to the “The Wizard of Oz,” with a live film score by the Boca Raton Symphonia.
