November is diabetes awareness month and, for the entire month, Palm Healthcare Foundation and the Diabetes Coalition of Palm Beach County have partnered to provide free diabetes screenings and risk assessments in Palm Beach County.

The calendar of free and open-to-the-public screening locations, dates and times, include one in Boca Raton, Monday, November 4 at Boca Helping Hands, 500 NW 1st Court, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., as well as at the C.L. Brumback Primary Care Clinic in Delray Beach at 225 South Congress Ave., Thursday, November 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

And on Diabetes Awareness Day, Saturday, November 12, the Palm Beach Outlets will host an event on a larger scale, from noon to 4 p.m., including free diabetes risk assessments, glucose screenings, healthy cooking demonstrations, Zumba, face painting, goody bags with diabetes information and a Palm Beach Outlet coupon book for those who get screened.

Some 119,000 Palm Beach County residents have been diagnosed with diabetes, 48,000 have pre-diabetes and many more people don’t know they have the disease, according to a press release on the event. The month-long campaign’s goal is to screen 4,000 local people, educate them about their personal risk for diabetes and help them learn about available and affordable resources.

Palm Healthcare Foundation is also a sponsor of Diabetes Month activities that are going on at Tenet Health’s Palm Beach County hospitals, including Delray Medical Center and West Boca Medical Center.

In July of 2016,, it was discovered that I got type 2 diabetes, By the end of the July month. I was given a prescription for the Metformin, I stated with the ADA diet and followed it completely for several weeks but was unable to get my blood sugar below 140, Without results whatever I did, I really panicked and called my doctor. His response?? Deal with it yourself, I started to feel that something wasn’t right and do my own research,Then I found Lisa’s great blog (google ” HOW NOW I HELPED MYSELF FROM THE DIABETES ” ) .. I read it from cover to cover and I started with the diet and by the next morning. my blood sugar was 100, Since then. I get a fasting reading between the mid 70s and 80s, My doctor was very surprised at the results that. the next week, he took me off the Metformin drug, I lost 35 pounds in my two month and lost more than 8 inches off my own waist as well as I can exercise twice per day and still having a lot of energy. The truth is that we can get off the drugs and help myself by trying natural methods。
