The owners of Union 27 announced on social media that Il Mulino New York will be “taking over” the restaurant space in the next two weeks.
Union 27 in Boca opened in October 2018, with help from Executive Chef George Patti of M.E.A.T. Eatery & Taproom (he left within a short time), and the chefs from the former Osteria Salina in the kitchen. The public could dine there, but a membership was also offered that meant extra perks for members.
Before it was Union 27, the space was 13 American Table. Now, it will be Il Mulino New York, which has locations in New York, of course (Uptown, Downtown, Tribeca, Hamptons, Long Island), plus Las Vegas, Atlantic City, N.J.; Puerto Rico, and two current venues in Florida: Sunny Isles Beach and South Miami Beach. (No, the one on Sunrise Boulevard for decades in Fort Lauderdale is not part of this group.)
Known for its upscale surroundings and menus, Il Mulino New York receives raves for the food, too, and that’s a good thing! Expect the Boca Raton changeover to last a couple of weeks, and then head for some fine dining.
Other branches of the Il Mulino empire: Il Mulino Prime, with New York venues in Soho and Gramercy; Bistecca by Il Mulino in Mount Pocono, PA; and Trattoria Il Mulino with places in New York (East 20th Street), inside the Walt Disney Swan Resort in Orlando, Atlantic City and Nashville.
