The Boca Raton Historical Society and The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum’s annual Walk of Recognition returns for its 28th year on Nov. 22, and the organizations are seeking community input on who will join the esteemed ranks of local heroes memorialized on Boca’s very own walk of fame.

Each year, individuals and organizations who embody the spirit of public service in Boca are selected to have their star added to the Walk of Recognition at Mizner Plaza in Royal Palm Place. Nominations made by the community are reviewed by a panel of judges who then select two to three inductees to be added to the Walk of Recognition and/or the Wall of Honor in the Addison Mizner monument for posthumous inductees.

Last year’s inductees included local philanthropists Mike and Amy Kazma, the Junior League of Boca Raton, and a posthumous dedication to Len Baker, who founded Allen’s Place, Pearl City’s community garden.

To make your nomination for this year’s Walk of Recognition, click here or call 561/395-6766, ext. 100. The deadline for submissions is Oct. 1.

The Walk of Recognition will be hosted at The Addison on Wednesday, Nov. 22. Keep an eye on the Boca Raton Historical Society’s website for when tickets go on sale.
