The eight community dancers of this year’s Boca Ballroom Battle kicked off their fundraising campaigns this week with a festive gathering at The Addison.
The dancers, dubbed the “Royal Collective” in line with the British Invasion theme of this year’s event, were joined by co-chairs and alumni dancers to launch their respective campaigns to raise money for deserving scholars of the George Snow Scholarship Fund. The dancers will spend the next four months perfecting their dance moves at Fred Astaire Dance Studios ahead of the main event on Sept. 20 at The Boca Raton’s Grand Ballroom. Donations can be made to support your favorite dancer here.
Event co-chairs for this year’s Ballroom Battle are The Addison Vice President Zoe Lanham—who won last year’s battle—and local volunteer Terry Fedele. The evening will be a celebration of all things British, with plenty of Union Jack-inspired garb and dancers busting a move to tracks by iconic British artists.
