Founded in 1972, the Boca Raton Historical Society (BRHS) is a private nonprofit dedicated to preserving and sharing the city’s rich history. Headquartered in the 1927 Historic Town Hall—listed on the National Register of Historic Places—BRHS operates The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum. Following major renovations, the museum reopened in 2021 with immersive History Alive! exhibits. Through educational programs, exhibits and events—including special Centennial celebrations in 2025—BRHS honors the past while inspiring future generations and promoting the importance of historic preservation in Boca Raton’s continued story.
