Is Boynton Beach becoming Beerton Beach?
Well, not yet. But it could be on the way with the expected debut in December of the city’s second craft brewery, Coppertop Brewing Company.
Partners Al Lettera and (brewmaster) Matthew Cox are in the middle of construction of a 10,000-square-foot facility plus tasting room on Commerce Road, just a hop, skip and a jump (heh, heh) from Boynton’s first artisan brewery, Due South.
Cox, who was the head beer dude at Big Bear Brewery in Coral Springs for more than a decade, will be turning out a variety of ales and lagers, and according to Coppertop’s Facebook page, the brewery will be teasing at local tasting events prior to opening.
The name, btw, is reportedly an homage to Cox’s wife, Laura, who just happens to be a redhead. Cute, no?
