Old School Square is getting a new logo, and the community gets final say on the design.
In March, the Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and City of Delray Beach put out a call to local artists to submit their works for consideration as the new logo of Old School Square. More than 30 local artists submitted their art and after being reviewed, three have been selected as finalists. Now, the community has the chance to vote on which of the three below artworks best embodies the local arts campus.

Local mixed media artist Jen Fisher’s lively vignette celebrates the artistic history of the Crest Theatre. “To me, the Crest Theater stands as the hub of the Old School Square Campus,” Fisher said. “The artwork’s purpose is to invite both locals and visitors to connect with the artistic spirit of the theater and also celebrate Old School Square’s unique cultural arts campus nestled in its lush South Florida landscape.”

Delray Beach-based artist Kristin Pavlick utilizes the Payne’s Gray pigment for a design that is both vintage and timeless.

South Florida native Patricia Torras incorporated design elements of the campus in her watercolor submission. “Old School Square has been a part of my life for nearly 25 years,” she said. “This initiative inspired me to capture the soul of Old School Square through the expressive medium of watercolor.”
Voting is open to the public through May 13 and a winner will be announced in early Fall 2025. The winner will receive a $5,000 prize, a Spotlight Gallery feature at the Cornell Art Museum, recognition in all Old School Square branding and media campaigns, and special honors at the official unveiling event.
