I hope you’ve been enjoying the Downtown Delray Beach Restaurant Month, with lots of special deals from area venues. For the last week of August, the city has added Distance Dining in the Park (Aug. 25-30).

This is a chance to eat outdoors safely in Old School Square Park, 51 N. Swinton Ave., from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. There will be chairs, tables, umbrellas, tents and café lighting in a sanitized, socially distanced area.

Pick up some food from the downtown restaurants – or have them delivered by Delivery Dudes – and look for the special picnic options that some places have added to their prix-fixe menus and dining deals.

Following CDC guidelines, the Distance Dining in the Park will have a mask requirement, hand-washing stations, antibacterial hand sanitizers, and the tables will be sanitized after each use.

Free parking is available in the Old School Square Garage.

Please continue to support local restaurants. We are losing too many. Another closing:

  • The Frog Lounge, 1325 N. Federal Highway: After 45 years, this bar closed its doors earlier this month.
