My first pick is the Chloé Marcie Small Crossbody Bag in dark velvet. After 18 months of carrying around a diaper bag, I was ready to invest in a small, easy to carry bag. After A LOT of soul searching, I purchased the Chloé bag for its color, design and size. Chloé bags have such a classic style, and who doesn’t love a dark velvet color for fall? Oh yeah, and I was so excited about working with Boca Mag on this blog that I purchased this bag on my way home from the meeting at Saks Fifth Avenue at Town Center at Boca Raton. Next up are two items from Anthropologie. Honestly, I have friends that are obsessed with this store, but I personally don’t think I ever purchased anything from there until this fall. I was out shopping and fell in love with the Checked Poplin Peplum Top and the Cropped Military Jacket. The Checked Poplin Peplum Top is a perfect summer to fall transitional piece and dresses up a pair of skinny jeans. The Cropped Military Jacket is on trend this season with the military inspired fashion, and it’s lightweight, which is perfect for fall in Florida. Last but not least, on my hunt to bring you local fashion, I stopped by Filly & Colt (7050 W. Palmetto Park Rd. // 561/ 447-4117). My mother-in-law owned a boutique in New Jersey and introduced me to this store during one of her visits. I swear I NEVER leave empty handed (during this trip I was just planning to “research.”) When I stopped by, the store was just transitioning from summer to fall, so I got a sneak peak of the new merchandise. First up are suede, color block Maliparmi loafers, which are perfect for fall (especially the rich colors.) As I continued to browse, I spotted this vintage lightweight flannel shirt (once again perfect for fall in Florida). I couldn’t resist since I am hitting up a couple country concerts this fall, AND this type of shirt is a staple. While I was in the “new fall arrival” section, I noticed these herringbone pants. Not only did these pants remind me of a vintage pair from my grandma, they also are in line with the whole 70s fashion vibe that hit the fall fashion runways. Finally, I checked out the sale section where I found a Lauren Vidal gold, silver and white vest with subtle glitter. Trust me when I tell you, this piece was aSTEALand has become a staple in my closet. If you’ve never shopped at Filly & Colt, I highly recommend you check it out for one-of-a-kind fall pieces!
