In the more deals department, Stephen Starr’s Steak 954 (401 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., 954-414-8333) has added a few more value items to their lunch menu on the heels of their $9.54 “954 Burger.” Look for a barbecued pork sandwich with fried green tomatoes, cole slaw and “dirty chips,” warm bacon and tomato sammie and spinach salad with poached chicken, apple, goat cheese and hazelnuts. New items are priced from $10 to $16 so you won’t have to dial 911 when the bill arrives.

Dallas-based restaurant chain Landry’s has switched Charley’s Crab on the Intracoastal in Fort Lauderdale to its Chart House brand (3000 NE 32nd Ave., 954-561-4800). Not much of a menu difference, at least from perusing each brand’s online websites, as the corporate types didn’t return messages asking for details. But the dining room has been updated and there’s a new outdoor lounge and patio, not to mention 300 feet of docking space in case you want to cruise over for lunch in your new aircraft carrier.
