It’s right around the corner—this year’s Loop the Lake for Literacy ride (presented by Florida Crystals) on February 25—a choice of five different-length bike rides around Lake Okeechobee to benefit the programs of the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County. Everyone we know who bikes loves this event—for one, it’s one of the most gorgeous real Florida experiences you can have, and number two, you get breakfast AND lunch and a t-shirt and a medal—the works.  Plus, it’s fun.

You can opt for the following rides:

  • The 15-mile “Sonnet” Ride.
  • The 31-mile “Short Story” Ride.
  • The 45-mile “Novel” Ride.
  • The 62-mile “Classic” Ride – Metric Century.  Added by popular demand!
  • The 115-mile “Epic” Ride – Full Loop.

Early registration (you save some dineros) ends February 1. Here are the prices: The 15-mile, 31-mile 45-mile or 62-mile rides are $85, $105 after February 1.  The 115-mile full loop ride is $145 or $165 after February 1. All rides include optional chip timing, rest/aid stations and support vehicles, breakfast and lunch, Loop the Lake T-shirt, finisher’s medal and an award ceremony.

We say saddle up for a good cause and get out there!
