The Girl Scouts never stop helping the community. As a GS in Boca Raton (my mom was a troop leader), I recall cookie sale season with a mixture of dread and excitement. I had to sell a LOT of cookies, but I loved visiting my neighbors and racking up the sales.

I also remember working hard to earn badges. West Boca Raton Community High School students Analiesa Chavez and Kelsey Bonner have written a cookbook for Boca Helping Hands that have earned them a Silver Award, as well as helping those who receive groceries from BHH. They took common ingredients from regular grocery handout bags and produced the cookbook that’s online here:

And wine pairings!

Speaking of Girl Scout cookies, ABC Fine Wine & Spirits paired some of its wines with certain cookies, because wine goes with everything! What a great idea!

Pour a glass of Shannon Ridge Petit Sirah and pull those Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies from the freezer (that’s where I keep them!) for a sweet ending to your day. Try the Samoas with the Heredad de Baroja Rioja, or the Cranberry Citrus Crisps with the Blue De Mer Rose. It’s a whole new world of wine pairing.
