The holidays are filled with “Aw. . .” moments and this is one.
On Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 17 and 18, Prosecco Café (4580 PGA Blvd., 561/622-3222) in Palm Beach Gardens and its sister restaurant, Saquella Café(410 Via De Palmas, 561/338-8840) in Boca Raton will host their first annual kids’ cookie decorating contest. Any kids, any ages can come to Prosecco from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Saquella from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday to try their little hands at decorating a pair of cookies. You do have to register though. Go to www.proseccocafe.com or www.saquellacafe.com.
The busy bakers at both restaurants will provide cookies for decorating in a variety of shapes—Christmas trees, gingerbread men, menorahs, etc—along with all the goodies needed to trick them out right and proper. The first, second and third place winners get gift certificates of $75, $50 and $25 at each restaurant.
And because there are plenty of kids who don’t have the chance to compete or win prizes, each contestant is asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the competition, with all toys being donated to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach.
All together now, “Aw. . .”
