Casual and affordable French cuisine from the former chef at Lake Worth’s late, lamented L’Anjou is coming to Boca Raton with the August 11 debut of Mimosa(5030 Champion Blvd., 561/866-4665).
First-time restaurateur James Vineau and partner Christian Gavino, former owner of Delray’s Pastis, snagged chef Mark Cela for their new eatery, which will occupy a 100-seat indoor and outdoor space at Polo Club Shoppes just north of Clint Moore Road.
Named after flower of Provence, not to mention the famous champagne and orange juice concoction that’s a brunchtime favorite, Mimosa will indeed be open for brunch, as well as lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday.
On the brunch menu are everything from eggs Benedict to french toast with crispy prosciutto. Lunch and dinner items include salad Nicoise, a daily pasta and risotto, herb-crusted sea bass with tapenade, braised short ribs with Pinot Noir sauce and poached pear with chocolate sauce.
Entree prices average about $20, and there’s also a three-course prix fixe dinner for $27.50.
