On Friday, Vicki Gunvalson, the fierce powerhouse from the Bravo reality showThe Real Housewives of Orange County, was in Boca Raton preparing for a photo shoot at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. Boca Mag met with the popular star to talk about her new endeavors, and life on –and off– screen.

In June, Gunvalson was named brand ambassador and vice president of product development for PureSuasion, a beauty company based out of Plantation, Florida. The outspoken celebrity is helping promote the brand’s first product, Cilea Lash, a non-prescription, eyelash growth enhancer.

“I am obsessed with eyelashes,” Gunvalson laughed.

Unlike competitors, which require an eyedropper to apply, the star said Cilea Lash is applied like an eyeliner.

“It is much easier to use,” she said. “It’s all natural. It’s affordable.”

This is PureSausion’s first release, but other products are on the way.

“We are also working on a couple more

that will centered around eyes,” Gunvalson said. “We have some really great stuff in the works.”

On August 2, Bravo announced it would renew The Real Housewives of Orange County for a seventh season, but the popular personality has not yet committed to the show.

“Nobody has actually signed a contract yet,” she said. “We are still in the talking stages. If everything works out, I’ll be back. If it doesn’t– I have more things in the works. It has to be worth it, obviously.”

More, indeed! In addition to her running her own insurance business, and speaking for Cilea Lash, the independent star is currently working on pitching her own show.

“It centers around getting women inspired and teaching them that they don’t have to settle,” Gunvalson said. “You know, like, I’m not settling. I want a good business. I want a partner that loves me, and I love them, and we can have a good life together. That’s why I am getting divorced right now, because we were both settling. We lost our love for each other. So my new show would be about that.”

Gunvalson also talked about the advantages and disadvantages of having her life filmed and shown to the masses. One  recent struggle has been dating in the public eye.

“I’m dating right now and my boyfriend has had a little bit of negative press,” she said. “It’s hard. In reality, there are two sides to a story and we haven’t gotten to his side yet, but that’s something we are working on now.”

Gunvalson said dealing with negative press, even after six seasons, remains difficult.

“The negative press is very difficult,” she said. “Nobody ever looks for negative press…so that’s something I really have to struggle with. I have struggled with it. I don’t like that side of it…I think if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it at all. I’m not perfect. I’ve been known to yell when I shouldn’t. I’ve been known to cry when I shouldn’t. We’re all human and if you don’t like it, turn the channel.”

But overall, Gunvalson said the show has changed her life for the better.

“I’m much happier,” she said. “I have these experiences that I never could have imagined. I think it’s just been a great experience.”
