One of the most luxurious properties in all of Boca Raton took its turn in the reality TV spotlight Tuesday night. More than 400 real estate brokers and agents, along with several prospects, attended a lavish event in a penthouse residence at One Thousand Ocean co-hosted by the stars of HGTV’s”Selling New York” part-time Boca residents Michele Kleier and her daughters Samantha Kleier-Forbes and Sabrina Kleier-Morgenstern.

The event will be part of a storyline this spring on season three of “Selling New York,” one of HGTV’s top-rated programs with an audience of some 2 million viewers.

But it was much more than that for LXR Luxury Resorts, the team behind One Thousand Ocean (the property was developed by an LXR affiliate). According to Jaime Telchin, LXR’s president of development, 65 percent of the property’s 52 Intracoastal units-ranging from $3 million to $15 million-are sold, impressive in an otherwise challenging real estate market. This “strategic alliance”with the Kleiers was an opportunity for One Thousand Ocean, which is right next to the Beach Club at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, to improve on those numbers even more.

“We’re networking with brokers in South Florida as well as brokers that we have approval to speak with in other states, including New York,” Telchin says. (Note: brokers in New York can only refer brokers or prospects; they’re not licensed to sell real estate in Florida.) So we said who better in New York to help introduce us to top brokers and prospects in that market?

It’s the second time that One Thousand Ocean has played a role in “Selling New York.” The property also was spotlighted in an episode of season one. “We have high aspirations that [the Kleiers] are going to deliver and bring interest in One Thousand Ocean from the New York market,” Telchin adds.

As for the Kleiers-of the prestigious boutique real estate brokerage firm Gumley Haft Kleier-it was an opportunity to gain exposure in a market they love (the family spends about two months out of the year in Boca), broaden their increasingly prolific brand and, perhaps, snag significant referral fees.

“Through the years we have spent a lot of vacation time at the Boca Raton Resort where we still enjoy the beach and other world-class amenities,”Michele Kleier says. “My daughters have fond memories of when they brought beach chairs and sat out by the jetty by the same inlet that One Thousand Ocean overlooks. So there’s definitely a connection between us and this property, which is one of the many reasons we are excited to tell others about it.”

Attendees enjoyed a stunning array of seafood from the team at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, including lobster, crab claws and monster prawns.

Did the strategic alliance help One Thousand Ocean land additional clients? You’ll have to wait and see when the episode runs in either May or June, according to the show’s producer.
