Boca magazine was saddened to learn that Peter Donovan, 61, died Sunday December 17. Peter Donovan may best be known in Boca for his successful restaurant, The Grille on Congress, which has been a mainstay for many of us since 1999.  (And he owned Khaki’s before that.) Peter and his wife, Suzie, were almost always on hand to greet their customers and seeing them was almost as delicious as those legendary biscuits.

There was very little by way of an obituary for Peter but we found a little paragraph on the Grille’s website which applies to him just as nicely as it does his restaurant:

“The best things in life are timeless. Comfortable. Casually urbane and elegant—without a hint of pretension. The kind of place [or person] that feels right—the moment you walk in, and each time you come back. Because you will want to come back.

“A classic.”

Our condolences to Suzie Donovan and all of Peter’s friends and family. He will be missed.
