It is hard being away when you hear bad news, and the very bad news I got today was that our dear Ken Feigl died.
Every time we ran into Ruth and Ken at the many events we all attended, he was so complimentary of our publications and he would recall with John their days in the publishing world in NYC. He was also so supportive of Boca Raton institutions like the Chamber and the Museum. He was full of excitement for all their cruises, happy to be traveling the world with his favorite gal, Ruth. He was so proud of her.
Ken really was a happy man and this happiness was catching. When we left his presence, we always felt better about everything—life, living in Boca, one another. Ken Feigl will really be missed. Boca Raton is a far better place for the 34 years he lived here.

Kenneth Feigl, a 34 year resident of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on September 24, 2011 at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, with Ruth, his loving wife of 61 years, at his side. A native New Yorker and World War II Army veteran, Ken, as he was affectionately known to his many friends and admirers, was a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science and Baruch College in New York City. The culmination of his lengthy and impressive career was as Treasurer of Times Mirror Magazines. Upon retiring to Boca Raton in 1977, Ken quickly put his knowledge and wealth of experience to good use by serving on a host of charitable, civic, and cultural boards and committees, including President of the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce; Boca Raton Museum of Arts; President of the Exchange Club of Boca Raton; United Way of Palm Beach County; Palm Beach County Advisory Board; Boca Pointe Homeowners Association; and for many years President of the Boca Del Mar Improvement Association, for whom he published a monthly newsletter. He was also a regular contributor to the Boca Raton News. In each and every instance, Ken gave his all, enriching the respective organizations with his intellect, leadership, and unwavering devotion. Above all, Ken was a gentleman, who had a sharp wit and an unquenchable passion for travel. He and Ruth circumnavigated the globe on a number of occasions, traveled all seven continents, and visited a total of 155 countries. Their last adventure was a world cruise in 2010 on the MS Amsterdam.
