Cena Modern hosts both wine tasting, wine dinner

Fairly new restaurant Cena Modern Italian (9 SE 7th Ave., Delray Beach; 561/330-1237) is hosting both a wine tasting and a wine dinner this month. The tasting is July 14, at 6 p.m., with tickets starting at $15, and reservations are required. Paired with light bites will be a Terre San Leonardo cabernet/merlot blend, a Sassoregale sangiovese and a Jermann chardonnay. For the wine dinner, on July 27, at 6 p.m., expect a four-course meal for $55 per person (early tickets), $70 per person (late tickets) and reservations are required. The menu includes prosecco, falanghina, barbaresco, Barolo and a sweet moscato with dessert.

A seaside summer prix-fixe at 50 Ocean

The view is amazing at 50 Ocean, and now you have a summer prix fixe to cash in on, too. A two-course meal is $21 per person, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Dishes include lobster bisque, surf ‘n’ turf tacos, shrimp BLT and more. Or go for the three-course prix fixe, at $35 per person, with swordfish (pictured), wahoo, chicken, to name a few dishes.

Italian wine pairing dinner planned at Ironwood Steak and Seafood

A smoking scallop with jalapeno creamed corn, paired with a Fontanelle chardonnay sounds like a dishy appetizer to us, and that’s first on the Banfi VIP wine pairing dinner July 19 at Ironwood Steak and Seafood (PGA National Resort & Spa, 400 Avenue of the Champions, Palm Beach Gardens; 561/624-8200). From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., enjoy a two-course dinner (plus appetizer and dessert) for $79, plus tax and gratuity. Special guest Luciano Castiello, for Cru Artisan Wines (and the Italian slow food culture) will host. Molto bene!
