Looks like Boynton Beach is getting its restaurant act together. In the wake of such popular and affordable new eateries as The Little House and Smashburger (more on that in a later post), comes Tijuana Flats (1725 S. Federal Hwy., 561/735-4946), the fourth local “fast casual” Tex-Mex restaurant in the five-state chain.

The 2,400-square-foot restaurant, which just opened yesterday, seats 100 indoors and out, and features the chain’s signature eye-poppingly colorful décor, which includes a giant blue Cyclops mural, 15-pump hot sauce bar and host of environmentally sensitive features.

The menu boasts all the tried-and-true Tex-Mex favorites: burritos, chimichangas, tacos, flautas, quesadillas, enchiladas and the like. Most can be had with ground beef or chicken, steak or carnitas, with a variety of toppings and choice of beans. There’s also a handful of low-cal offerings, desserts and dishes for the kids, as well as beer and wine.
