Let’s not spend more time in the airports than we do in the air.

Because in a world of doorstep deliveries, innovative technologies and non-stop assistance at our fingertips, it just makes sense to travel a little bit easier for those who can make it happen.

Tradewind Aviation, the leading regional operator of first-class private charter service to the Bahamas and throughout the Caribbean, has recently set up shop in in the Palm Beaches to help travelers get to the islands and all areas of the southeast U.S. efficiently, conveniently and in comfort.

“When people think about private aviation, they think of jets, they think of going to long-distance destinations like Aspen from Florida or New York. We chose to specialize in really an underserved portion of the private aviation space which is solving the problem for shorter distance flying,” says David Zipkin, co-founder and chief commercial officer.

This winter, North Eleuthera will be added to Tradewind Aviation’s list of scheduled destinations from Palm Beach International Airport’s private aviation space. The airline already has scheduled routes from Palm Beach to St. Barths, Antigua, Anguilla, Virgin Gorda, St. Thomas and San Juan. In the Northeast, Tradewind has regularly scheduled routes to and from New York, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

“Moving into and opening a base in South Florida has been on the list for a very long time and we’re just happy that we now have the infrastructure and capability to do it properly. We brought six aircraft down in September and we’ll continue to add to that mix as things grow,” says Zipkin.

Tradewind’s Southeast private charter and scheduled flights are operated in their Swiss-built Pilatus PC-12 turbine-powered aircraft, flown by two pilots with air-conditioning, a pressurized cabin, luggage space and complimentary snacks, refreshments, wine and beer.

“One of my favorite long-term clients calls Tradewind her magic carpet ride. Show up and you’re there,” says Zipkin.

Zipkin and his brother, Eric, founded the company in 2001, turning their passion for flying into a leading regional private airline. For the past three years, Tradewind has been named in the Top 5 Best Airlines in the United States and now sits at number three on the list of Condé Nast Traveler’s 2023 Readers’ Choice Awards.
