A Day With Bikes and Sand

“We are so lucky to have such beautiful February weather here in Boca! My husband of almost 15 years and I love to ride from Spanish River Beach down to Break House or Oceans 234 in Deerfield on our e-bikes and sit on the sand afterwards for a little day date. Considering Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year, I’m penciling these plans in our shared calendar now! Maybe I’ll even throw on some red or pink riding gear.”

My Boca Dive Bar Valentine

“While my address doesn’t fall within the Boca Raton city limits, my wife and I happily hazard the drive down 95 for a Boca night out. On a normal date night this would mean reservations at La Nouvelle Maison, but since a Valentine’s Day reservation in Boca needs to be secured years in advance, we would opt for a less conventional romantic outing by bar-hopping the best local dives.

We would start at the Lion & Eagle English Pub for a perfectly (and correctly) poured Guinness and split a plate of fish and chips. From there, we’re off to Duck Tavern for smoked fish dip and beers from local breweries we’d never even heard of. Finally, we’d end the night at the newly re-opened Tall Boy, a legendary Boca dive that we never got to experience in its heyday. After that, an Uber ride home.”

Romance On the Water

“Take advantage of our swoon-worthy winter weather and celebrate with a ride on a private Riverfront Gondola Tours boat. Order food from neighboring Casa Sensei, pack a bottle of chilled Champagne and enjoy a relaxing cruise along our waterways.”

A “Better For You” V-Day

“What to do with a spouse who doesn’t imbibe, who doesn’t like crowds or noisy restaurants, and who doesn’t overindulge on sugary desserts? First off, we jettison the traditions that I, too, can live without: the white tablecloths, the price-gouging dinners, the bar crawls in heavily trafficked cities.

An alternative such as “Date Night, Reimagined: A Valentine’s Wellness Date Night” seems to strike the perfect balance of health-forward fun and romantic connection. Hosted by Plasma Med Spa in Weston, and priced at a more than-reasonable $50 per couple, the event includes a 30-minute, beginner-friendly HIIT workout, a cold plunge (there’s a first time for everything, I suppose!) and sauna experience, 30 minutes of play on a golf simulator, and a wellness boost—either a free B12 injection or a half-priced IV infusion—along with light bites served throughout the evening. Couples rotate through the various wellness stations, and for those with kids, on-site childcare is available for all three hours.”

Love Forged in Fire

“The best dates are the ones where we try something new together. I would sign us up for a class at The Guild in Pompano Beach for a Couples Wine Down Forging Night; they offer blacksmithing workshops for couples to create different things. Who knows, we might end up becoming professionals in no time. Afterward, I would want to get dressed up for drinks and live music—we could check the schedules at Boca Black Box, Funky Biscuit or Arts Warehouse to see what strikes our fancy.”

An Ace of a Date Night

“Take me golfing… fresh air, no distractions, and the pause we all need. Any sports date works for me, but golf is what I’m focused on right now… time together, a few laughs, and the kind of uninterrupted presence that feels harder and harder to come by these days.
