Craft beer dinner features Twisted Trunk at BurgerBar
A four-course beer and food tasting menu is the plan for the final Summer Tasting Dinner, Sept. 21, at BurgerBar (4650 Donald Ross Road, Palm Beach Gardens; 561/630-4545). Starting at 6 p.m. with a “welcome brew” reception, dinner will feature Twisted Trunk’s craft beer, including Loxahatchee Lager, Watermelon Saison, Irish Red, Dicky Rantz and Triple Belgium. Dishes from Executive Chef Nunzio Billante (pictured) include chili glazed pork belly slider, cubinela pepper stuffed with venison sausage, deconstructed beef Wellington, and beeramisu (Triple Belgium infused tiramisu cake topped with salted caramel). And it’s all for $55 per person. Reservations are required.
B Square Burgers & Booze opens on Las Olas
From Kobe beef hot dogs to burgers made with all-natural, antibiotic and hormone-free beef, seafood and other specialty ingredients, the new kid on Las Olas will cover the waterfront for unusual bites. B Square Burgers & Booze opened this month at 1021 E. Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. The Phat Boy burger (pictured), for example, is a burger sandwiched between American and cheddar grilled cheese with bacon, lettuce and tomato. The Decadent Dog is a footlong hot dog with truffle oil, sautéed lobster and garlic butter served with Parmesan fries. There’s a Crackling Calamari Salad with frisee, radicchio, endive, toasted cashews, diced bananas, lightly fried calamari and orange poppy dressing. The main bar seats 28, and offers a selection of micro-brew craft beers, specialty cocktails and wines.
