Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is teaming up with the Palm Beach County Food Bank to tackle hunger for “Pack to Give Back” Day.

On March 29, volunteers from FAU’s Sean Stein Pavilion at the College of Business will be helping to pack bulk food items for the food bank, and the community is invited to join by volunteering for morning and afternoon shifts. Items packaged will help feed the more than 173,000 food-insecure residents in Palm Beach County.

“We are so grateful to partner with FAU and to have their generosity in hosting this event,” said Palm Beach County Food Bank CEO Jamie Kendall. “Every packed bag is a step toward a hunger-free Palm Beach County, and it takes a village to get there. We are excited to see the end result after being joined by passionate and enthusiastic supporters in the FAU community.”

Volunteers aged 18 and older—or volunteers younger than 18 with a guardian present—will hop on the assembly line to weigh, sort and package food items. Shifts run from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m., but volunteers can opt to stay all day. Parking will be available in front of the College of Business building. To register, click here.
