The Florida Magazine Association hosted its annual awards celebration this weekend, and Boca magazine was honored with the top award in eight categories, including Best Overall Magazine.

The state’s top publications were in attendance at Friday’s awards ceremony at the Signia by Hilton Bonnet Creek Resort in Orlando, each vying for the coveted Charlie Award (top honor) in categories ranging from Best Overall Writing, Best Feature, Best Public Service Coverage, and more.

“The Boca magazine staff comes to work every day knowing they are producing the best magazine in Florida,” said Boca magazine Editor Emeritus Marie Speed. “To have the FMA agree with that assessment has always made us proud.

“This year was my last awards submission to the Florida Magazine Association and I am so happy with the recognition our magazines received. It’s an honor for JES Media and for me, personally, it feels good to go out on a high note. Congratulations to our talented editorial and design staff, who make our magazines so compelling and so inspired—year after year.”

The evening kicked off with a performance from two members of Opera Orlando before the awards presentation, during which Boca magazine collected 17 awards sweeping across 12 categories.
