For the third consecutive year, Delray Beach has been named the “Best Beach in Florida” in USA Today’s 10Best Reader’s Choice Awards.

To determine the winner, USA Today editors and a panel of travel experts selected a shortlist of Florida’s top beaches. Readers were then invited to vote daily for their favorite destination, with voting concluding on May 18.

“Winning this award three years in a row speaks to the unique experience Delray Beach offers … it’s a destination that truly has something for everyone,” said Laura Simon, executive director of the Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority.

Although Florida boasts more than 825 miles of beaches—many ranked among the best in the world—Delray Beach’s two miles of sand stands out. Its serene coastline, natural dunes and crystal-clear waters have won the hearts of many beachgoers, along with the vibrant and walkable downtown area that surrounds it.

“This recognition reflects not only the beauty of our beach, but also the welcoming spirit of our community and the incredible businesses that make Delray Beach such a special place to visit and live,” said Stephanie Immelman, president and CEO of the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Keeping that beauty requires funding and hard work. Delray Beach finished in April a $19 million beach renourishment project that added about 1.3 million cubic yards of sand to its coastline.

“These awards follow the recent successful completion of our beach renourishment project which has widened the beach to enhance recreational opportunities, expand endangered sea turtle nesting habitats, and provide stronger storm protection for upland infrastructure,” said Delray Beach Assistant Director of Public Works Cynthia Buisson in a statement to Delray magazine.

In addition to its three “Best Beach in Florida” wins, Delray has also earned the Blue Flag designation for four straight years. This distinction is only awarded to beaches that meet rigorous environmental, safety and clean water standards. Delray Municipal Beach is one of only three beaches in the continental United States to receive the Blue Flag for the 2026 season.
