Thinking of Christmas drinks in August…

There is a sure-fire bright spot on the horizon for November, just after you’ve crammed yourself with turkey. That would be the repeat of the Miracle Pop-Up Bar at Death or Glory in Delray Beach. And… a second location in CityPlace opening Nov. 23 (which happens to be Black Friday shopping day)! The Miracle on Rosemary’s will be right below the Palm Beach Improv. Both will be up and running through New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31.

Yes, the creative glasses and mugs will return with some new designs. But don’t forget what’s in those vessels: Christmopolitan, Snowball Old Fashioned, Bad Santa (pictured above, served hot), Christmas Carol Barrel, Run Run Rudolph, Gingerbread Flip, Jingle Balls Nog, And A Partridge in A Pear Tree are just some of the cocktails.

The Death or Glory Miracle Pop-Up bar will be open daily from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. The Miracle on Rosemary’s hours will be noon to 1 a.m.

News from little birdies about a CityPlace addition?

Seems CityPlace may go to the birds soon, with a rumor about Yardbird Southern Table & Bar opening there. Goodness knows there are enough empty restaurant areas. It would be nice to fill some of them.

Yardbird, with locations in Miami Beach (open for brunch, lunch, dinner), Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Singapore, is known for its farmhouse atmosphere and blues music, along with the menu. Items include buttermilk biscuits, shrimp and grits, deviled eggs, swine burger, fried chicken, deep-fried Oreo, beignets, peach cobbler, craft bourbons, craft beers and wine.

Chez Marie celebrates 4th birthday

This quaint restaurant tucked into a strip shopping center is worth seeking out. Obviously, enough people have done that to support Chez Marie for four years, which is a milestone in South Florida restaurant worlds.

To celebrate that achievement, Chez Marie will offer a Secret Menu three-course, prix-fixe meal on Aug. 30, for $29.90 per person. This is in addition to the regular menu, which always has terrific traditional French dishes. In addition, on the anniversary night, every guest will receive a complimentary glass of Champagne. Sounds like a great night out to me.
