You know you’ve done great work in the local food industry when, after years of providing fresh-farm goods to top restaurants, you’re honored with some of the area’s best chefs cooking for you when you retire. Now, that’s a brunch!

This is the situation for Nancy Roe of Green Cay Farm in western Palm Beach County. She’s retiring and you have a chance to share in her good brunch fortune on May 27 at the farm. Here’s who will be cooking for her (and you, with tickets only $30 per person!): Chef Rick Mace, Café Boulud; Chef Manlee Siu, Eau Palm Beach; Chef Jeremy Bearman, Oceano Kitchen; Chef Daniel Ramos, Red Splendor; and more. Needless to say, you will not go hungry and you will eat like a king.

This is a Slow Brunch, from 11 a.m .to 1 p.m. and will feature fresh produce from Green Cay, Kai Kai and Swank Farms. It’s a meeting of the best in the biz, sponsored by Slow Foods Glades to Coast, part of the worldwide Slow Food organization. Buy tickets and get entrance details here.

MIA hosts innovative spirits-pairing dinner

MIA Kitchen & BarA cocktail and culinary five-course, prix-fixe “Spring in the Sunshine State” dinner at Chef Blake Malatesta’s MIA Kitchen & Bar in Delray Beach will pair the familiar in unfamiliar ways. That’s Chef Blake’s style, and you’re sure to win if you’re seated at the table.

On May 30 at 7:30 p.m., you can taste dishes such as smoked shrimp cakes, bacon planks and rhubarb marmalade with Strawberry Fields cocktail (pictured) that has FEW rye bourbon, Aperol, sweet vermouth, strawberry syrup and bitters. And that’s just one course. The event’s special speaker will be Aron Silverman of Miami’s Samson & Surrey. Tickets are $60 per person, excluding tax/gratuity. Reservations are required. 7901 W. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach; 561/499-2200
