There’s plenty of time to get a team together, join a team or sign up to walk as an individual for the upcoming American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K (3.1-mile) walk in Boca Raton. The walk raises money and awareness for breast cancer.
The noncompetitive event starts at Mizner Park Amphitheater (590 Plaza Real) at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 22.
The Making Strides of South Palm Beach walk celebrates survivors and raises money for breast cancer research, education and patient services. Participants who raise $100 will receive a 2016 Commemorative Making Strides t-shirt.
Making Strides has been making its impact on fundraising to end breast cancer for decades. Since 1993, more than 12 million walkers nationwide have raised more than $750 million to help fight breast cancer at Making Strides events, according to the American Cancer Society.
