Local residents now have more than 10,000 new home storage products at their fingertips thanks to this weekend’s opening of The Container Store at Town Center at Boca Raton.
Featuring just about every organizational tool imaginable—and many you haven’t considered—The Container Store offers products that “save people space and time so they can get organized and go enjoy the rest of their life,” according to Carrie Lorey, general manager of the Boca store, who will oversee approximately 60 employees. This is the third Florida store opened in 2013 (raising the statewide total to five); the nearest locations to Boca are in Miami and Hallandale Beach.
On the heels of Thursday night’s private preview party, the 21,000-square-foot store is set to open Saturday (June 15) at 10 a.m. The layout is divided into lifestyle sections; think kitchen, laundry, bath, travel and office. Among the unique items spotted at the preview party: a car clothes bar, a hanging gift-wrap workstation and recycled paper storage bags.
The Container Store operates under an “employee first” culture. “We really take care of our employees; you pay your employees well, they feel engaged [and] a part of something, then they take care of the customer,” says Elaine Luce, senior director of marketing and special events. “We also have a model that we call conscious capitalism; what that means is you can be a good capitalist, and do good things: take care of your employees, take care of the environment, take care of the community.”
To that end, The Container Store will donate 10 percent of its opening-weekend sales to the Junior League of Boca Raton. Adding to the festivities, prizes will be given away every hour during the weekend, including $1,000 elfa space makeovers on both days. In addition, shoppers who spend $100 at the Boca store from now until June 30 will receive a $15 gift card to use between July 1 and July 31. Located to the right of Stir Crazy, Florida’s newest Container Store is definitely worth checking out. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
