Spoto’s site of five-course wine-food pairing dinner
Executive Chef Dan Bair, of Spoto’s Oyster Bar (4560 PGA Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens, 561/776-9448), is hosting a five-course meal on Aug. 18 that pairs wines with dishes to create those all-too-few perfect bites. He’s putting a Riesling with scallops, a chardonnay with a lobster spring roll, a pinot noir with a roasted pork loin, a cabernet with a grilled sirloin topped with berry mole sauce and a port with a pear and raspberry gelato (that sounds yummy!). Plus, special guest speakers will be Heather Hurley from Breakthru Beverage Group and Matt Jeske from Noble Wine Estates. All this starts at 6:30 p.m. and costs $65 per person, not including tax/gratuity. Reservations are required.
Craft Beer Bash promises more than 150 brews
On Aug. 13, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., PGA National Resort & Spa hosts a Craft Beer Bash, featuring more than 150 beers and ciders, along with a food court, live music, vendors and more. The cost is $39 in advance or $49 at the door, and will be held at the PGA National Conference Center (400 Avenue of the Champions, Palm Beach Gardens).
